After recent leaks (embed our article here: pembrokenissan.ca/2021-nissan-rogue-leak/), Nissan held an event to reveal that the 2021 Nissan Rogue is reaching dealerships soon (embed their article here: https://www.nissan.ca/vehicles/crossovers-suvs/rogue.html). Boasting an affordable price, overhauled exteriors, and a reimagined transmission, there is a great deal to be excited about regarding this new version of Nissan’s popular SUV. Shoppers might ask, is this upgrade worth it? Also, has the company taken into consideration feedback from the previous entries in this line? We have gathered everything you would need to know about these questions and make an educated decision, as you (very smartly) consider your next purchase.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue, What’s New?

The 2021 Nissan Rogue achieves quite a bit considering the budget. First, there is an overhauled interior that features a nuanced design and more comprehensive features when compared to previous models. A variety of two-tone color options are available for the interior, and semi-aniline leather covers the  Rogue’s seats. (Semi-aniline leather is produced in a similar way to full-aniline leather, there is a protective coat that’s implemented to prevent wear and stains.)

There are also not one, not two, but three displays which provide vehicle information in high resolution. The first is a 12-inch digital dashboard behind the wheel. Want to add maps, menus, or adjust your gauge cluster? The 2021 Nissan Rogue will allow a variety of options. There is also a touchscreen display that features a vast amount of navigation options. If you use either Google Maps or Waze, native applications are available. However, Nissan also includes their new Door-to-Door Navigation software which includes 3D graphics and a more seamless experience with turn-by-turn directions. You can manage and adjust your menus hands-free with either voice commands or buttons that are on the steering wheel, ensuring you remain focused on driving. Excitingly, there is also a heads-up display which is projected onto the windshield, sleekly providing a speedometer and turn-by-turn directions.

To maximize efficiency, the 2021 Nissan Rogue’s mileage impressively stands at 7.0L/100 KM when tested on highways. The AWD capability is also something to behold, with various modes that provide the easiest driving on either pavement or dirt roads. The full list of AWD modes include:

  • Off Road
  • Sport
  • Snow
  • Auto
  • Eco

Under the hood, the new Rogue boasts a 2.5L engine with 4 cylinders. Featuring a CVTCS (Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System) and DIG (Direct Injection Gasoline), the 2021 Nissan Rogue ensures high performance and efficiency.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue Importantly Considers Feedback From Previous Models

Acknowledging feedback has been important for Nissan as they revise the 2021 Nissan Rogue’s transmission. With a smoother CVT, pushing on the accelerator will let out much less noise than previous iterations of the Rogue. Plus, the added horsepower and torque have made the driving experience much smoother.

Another factor that Nissan has been closely considering is safety. The Rogue is popular with families, and Nissan understands that it certainly does not hurt to raise the standard of an already advanced crash avoidance system. The focus is to “de-stress” the driver, by including four cameras to help park with ease, blind spot warnings, and the ProPILOT Assist software. The ProPILOT Assist software uses 3D mapping to make highway driving easier, with the ability to detect speed limit signs and manage centering within the lane. Other features include a high beam assist that deactivates the Rogue’s high beam lights when detecting an oncoming vehicle, and a lane departure warning that gives the steering wheel a gentle buzz when you are not staying on course.
